Mission Trip

Volunteer for 2 life-changing days at the DreamCenter LA.

Oct 27, 2016 7:00 PM - Oct 29, 2016 5:00 PM PDT

We are here to serve those in need.

Due to overwhelming positive feedback from our Mission Trips to the DreamCenter LA last year, we've opened several new opportunities for you to visit the DreamCenter in 2016. During these trips, you'll work alongside Dr. April and the team to help the struggling communities of Los Angeles, while learning how we go above and beyond to serve those in need. Anyone can attend, including current Maximized Living Doctors and team members, guest doctors, patients, church groups - or anyone else who has a passion to help those who cannot help themselves.

Mission Trip Itinerary

7:00pm - Service at Angelus Temple (optional)

Pastor Matthew Barnett came to Los Angeles in 1994 to start a typical church. However, after a series of events Pastor Matthew quickly realized that God didn’t want another typical church. God put it in Pastor Matthew’s heart to start a church that remained open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This church would serve the inner-city’s physical and spiritual needs, bringing a message of hope to the seemingly hopeless. The DreamCenter is the fulfillment of that dream. For years, The DreamCenter met for church in an old gym with capacity crowds each service. Pastor Matthew began praying that God would provide a building. God answered his prayer, and in 2001, Pastor Matthew, and his wife of two years Caroline, became the senior pastors of Angelus Temple, the birthplace of the Foursquare denomination. Now, 11 years later, Angelus Temple is experiencing great growth! With two services on Sundays and a Thursday mid-week service.

The DreamCenter are seeing hundreds come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, be baptized, and begin to serve the community in one of The DreamCenter’s many community service projects.

Morning - Tour the DreamCenter

Founded in 1994, The Dream Center is a volunteer driven organization that finds and fills the needs of over 80,000 individuals and families each month. The Dream Center does this through mobile hunger relief and medical programs, residential rehabilitation programs adults, a shelter for victims of human trafficking, transitional housing for homeless families, foster care intervention programs, job skills training, life skills, counseling, basic education, Bible studies and more.  The Dream Center work to meet people where they are at, to bring them hope and a way off the streets. The Dream Center’s record of success has attracted urban missionaries and Christian leaders from across the U.S. and the world. As they volunteer with us, they gain insight and skills that they can take back to their own communities.

1:00pm - Engage in the DreamCenter Outreach Programs

Volunteers will be working alongside our Discipleship Program serving the community by cleaning up the neighborhood and engaging in various work projects.

Adopt a Block is the heartbeat ministry of The Dream Center. Adopt a Block goes out and serves the community in any way possible. This ministry exists to build relationships and stay consistent in the community. Volunteers with Adopt a Block have the chance to help with the hot dog cart, which goes into areas where people are experiencing homelessness and intense poverty. This ministry also does random acts of kindness in the community as well as picking up trash, painting, sweeping the streets, basically anyway that we can help change the atmosphere of the community.

4:00pm - Tour the Maximized Living Foundation Health Center at the DreamCenter

Come take a tour of the Health Center that makes it happen, working with the Foundation to provide $2.6 million dollars in donated goods and services to underprivileged patients in need.

Dr. April and her staff provided care for over 282,000 people in 2015. Many of these people are the homeless or people with life controlling dependencies.

The Maximized Living Foundation provided fresh fruit and vegetables for the residents of The Dream Center, surrounding community and the forgotten souls of the homeless. The Foundation provided meals for over 255,000 people in 2015.

8:30am - Impact / Experience Discussion
