Event Description

This training workshop is designed for anyone new to the Adobe Creative Cloud video editing program Premiere Pro; anyone switching from other editing software like Final Cut Pro; or anyone who has used Premiere on-and-off but wants to master the software.  You'll learn the interface, how to establish a workflow, ingest video, use tools to cut/trim/move/place your material where you want it, incorporate still pictures, and add basic transitions/titles/audio and video effects.  Source footage is provided for participants who will work on Mac workstations (two participants to a computer).

This class takes place once a week for four consecutive weeks (Wednesdays from 7:00 - 10:00 pm) at the new Docs In Progress location at 801 Wayne Avenue.

LEVEL
I/II – No prior training at Docs In Progress required.

FEES

NOTE ON PAYMENT
Full payment must be received to guarantee you a spot in the class. In order to get the discounted earlybird rate, full payment must be RECEIVED by the earlybird date.  Otherwise the regular rate will be charged.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

H. Paul Moon creates documentary portraits in music and visual art. He also creates lyrical films of cities, landscapes and contemporary dance. He teaches courses on documentary editing to emerging filmmakers, founded DocoFilm, and manages a network of online communities at FocusPulling to keep pace with newest camera technologies, lately virtual reality at VRcine. His body of work includes short and feature-length documentaries, dance films, and experimental cinema, regularly featured at film festivals worldwide. He worked as a small camera specialist for a Paramount feature film starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, and as cinematographer for director Josephine Decker's film in collective:unconscious. His recent films include Sitkaabout the craftsmanship of Steinway pianos andQuartet for the End of Timeabout Oliver Messiaen's transcendent wartime composition. He has just completed a feature-length documentary about the life and music of American composer Samuel Barber, and is currently finishing another documentary feature about Western folklife, cowboy poetry, and the American frontier. REFUND POLICY
If your circumstances change and you must withdraw from a class after registering, please be aware of our refund policy:
Withdrawal 30 or more calendar days before the first day of a program: 75% refund
Withdrawal 11-29 calendar days before the first day of a program: 50% refund
Withdrawal 10 or fewer calendar days before a program: No refund

WEATHER POLICY
In the event of seriously inclement weather, we will make a decision by 3 pm on whether to cancel that evening’s programs. (For Saturday classes, we will make the decision by 6 pm on Friday). If you have not received a notification from your instructor or the Educational Programs Manager, call our office at 301-789-2797 (we will have an outgoing message on voicemail).
